Mindchat is an AI companion platform designed to create meaningful, emotionally engaging conversations through personalized AI friends. We focused on delivering an experience that feels less like a chatbot and more like a trusted companion, by researching with actual psychologists and counselors, then combining conversational AI, mood tracking, and immersive interactions into a mobile-first experience tailored for Gen Z users.

We researched, designed and developed the core product experience, including onboarding, authentication, mood tracking, AI chat, custom AI friends, voice calls, video interactions, and offline experiences. Users can create and interact with unique AI companions, track their emotional wellbeing over time, and engage through text, voice, and animated video conversations that feel natural and responsive.

A key part of the experience was building personalized AI avatars capable of realistic speech-driven animation. Instead of relying on simple looping animations, we developed characters whose facial movements and lip synchronization respond dynamically to what they are saying, using speech-aware visemes and real-time animation systems to create more expressive and believable conversations. Combined with custom personality systems, voice interactions, and conversational memory, these avatars helped transform AI companions into engaging digital characters rather than traditional chat interfaces.
