Software Engineer 1 (DevOps) -Fulltime, onsite

We’re looking for a Software Engineer 1 (DevOps) who can help us build, deploy, monitor, and maintain the infrastructure behind our products.

You’ll work closely with software engineers, QA, product managers, and leadership to make sure our applications move from development to production smoothly — and stay there.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys automation, solving infrastructure problems, improving reliability, and making engineering teams faster.

What You’ll Own

1. Infrastructure & Cloud

  1. Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure and development environments.
  2. Work with services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  3. Configure and maintain servers, networking, storage, databases, and related infrastructure.
  4. Help design infrastructure that is reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.
  5. Maintain development, staging, and production environments.

2. CI/CD & Deployment

  1. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for web, mobile, backend, and other applications.
  2. Automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
  3. Improve deployment speed, reliability, and consistency.
  4. Manage application releases and production deployments.
  5. Reduce manual deployment and operational work through automation.

3. Docker & Containerization

  1. Build and maintain Docker images and containerized applications.
  2. Work with Docker Compose and/or Kubernetes where appropriate.
  3. Improve container security, performance, and reliability.
  4. Help engineering teams adopt consistent development and deployment environments.

4. Monitoring & Reliability

  1. Set up and maintain application and infrastructure monitoring.
  2. Monitor system health, performance, uptime, and resource usage.
  3. Configure logging, alerts, dashboards, and incident monitoring.
  4. Investigate production issues and help identify their root causes.
  5. Continuously improve system reliability and availability.

5. Security & Access

  1. Follow infrastructure and deployment security best practices.
  2. Manage environment variables, secrets, credentials, and access controls securely.
  3. Implement appropriate permissions and authentication mechanisms.
  4. Help identify and address infrastructure security risks.

6. Linux & System Administration

  1. Work comfortably with Linux environments.
  2. Manage processes, services, networking, permissions, storage, and system resources.
  3. Troubleshoot server and application-level issues.
  4. Use command-line tools effectively to diagnose problems.

7. Automation

  1. Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks.
  2. Use scripting and infrastructure-as-code where appropriate.
  3. Improve internal developer workflows and engineering tooling.
  4. Look for ways to eliminate manual processes and reduce operational overhead.

8. Engineering Collaboration

  1. Work closely with software engineers to understand application requirements.
  2. Support developers in getting their applications running reliably in different environments.
  3. Collaborate with QA on testing and release processes.
  4. Help teams understand deployment, infrastructure, and production requirements.
  5. Document important infrastructure and operational processes.

9. AI & Modern Engineering Tools

  1. Use AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, automation, and infrastructure work.
  2. Explore practical ways AI can improve DevOps workflows.
  3. No blind copy-paste engineering — you should understand what you deploy and why.

10. Ownership & Problem Solving

  1. Take ownership of infrastructure and deployment tasks from start to finish.
  2. Investigate problems instead of simply working around them.
  3. Identify bottlenecks and proactively improve systems.
  4. Stay calm and methodical when dealing with production issues.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  1. Curious about how systems work under the hood.
  2. Comfortable working across infrastructure, software, and cloud environments.
  3. Strong at troubleshooting and logical problem-solving.
  4. Comfortable learning new technologies quickly.
  5. Detail-oriented when dealing with production systems.
  6. Comfortable communicating with developers and non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  8. Proactive rather than waiting for someone to tell you what needs fixing.
  9. Comfortable taking ownership of systems and processes.
  10. Interested in continuously improving how engineering teams build and ship products.

Must-Haves

  1. 1–3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure, System Administration, or a related field.
  2. Strong understanding of Linux.
  3. Practical experience with Git and Git workflows.
  4. Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  5. Experience with Docker and containerization.
  6. Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  7. Understanding of networking fundamentals: DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, ports, firewalls, etc.
  8. Experience with deployment and production environments.
  9. Basic understanding of databases and application infrastructure.
  10. Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
  11. Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar.
  12. Understanding of environment variables, secrets, permissions, and basic security practices.
  13. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  14. Good communication and documentation skills.
  15. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineering teams.
  16. Comfortable using AI tools as part of modern engineering workflows.

Good to Have

  1. Kubernetes
  2. Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
  3. AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC
  4. Nginx or similar reverse proxies
  5. PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB
  6. Redis
  7. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar
  8. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Sentry, or similar
  9. Infrastructure security and vulnerability management
  10. Experience with microservices
  11. Experience with mobile application deployment infrastructure
  12. Experience supporting AI/ML workloads
  13. Experience with SaaS, AI, fintech, gaming, or enterprise products
  14. Experience working with international clients
  15. Infrastructure cost optimization
  16. Kubernetes orchestration and Helm
  17. Strong understanding of cloud networking
