Chess Revolution transforms competitive chess into a persistent progression experience, where every match contributes to the growth of a player's evolving island. We led the entire project from a single idea—"We need a chess game in Oasiz". Our work involved game design, art and engineering to create a complete multiplayer experience.
Players can challenge friends, compete against others, or practice with AI bots while climbing a fully integrated Elo ranking system. As players improve, their islands evolve to reflect their achievements.
We reimagined the board with "living pieces" inspired by the Tiny Swords pixel-art characters by Pixel Frog, allowing players to switch between classic chess pieces and animated warriors. On the technical side, we integrated Stockfish directly into the game, enabling fast local AI analysis without relying on external APIs.
The result is a fresh take on chess—combining timeless strategy with progression, personality, and modern game design.
The game is currently live on the Oasiz platform, and is used for the training of Oasiz's AI game creation pipelines.
